Ash

Ash heartwood is a light to medium brown color.  The sapwood can be very wide and tends to be light brown/beige in color.  It has a medium to coarse texture, similar to oak.  The grain is almost always straight and regular, but can sometimes be moderately curly or figured.  

Natural ash has great results with hand or machine tools.  It responds well to bending, gluing, staining and finishing as well.
