With both manual and machine tools, he achieves good results. Shrinkage values are somewhat high, leading to average dimensional stability, particularly in flatsawn boards. When combined with iron (especially when wet), it can stain and discolour. It’s a good candidate for steam-bending. It adheres to the surface, stains it, and gives it a nice finish.
